HKUST-1 is also known as MOF-199, Cu-BTC and Basolite(TM) C300. This is generally true of all Cu-based MOFs, but not necessarily for other metals. If the material is handled properly, the Langmuir surface area of HKUST-1 is ca. 2200 m 2 /g. 2 HKUST-1 has been called several different names such as MOF-199 and Cu-BTC; we offer this material as Basolite™ C300 ( 688614 ). The Cu(BDC) exhibited significantly higher catalytic activity than that of other Cu-MOFs such as Cu 3 (BTC) 2, Cu(BPDC), and Cu 2 (BDC) 2 (DABCO), and that of some common copper salts such as CuCl 2, CuCl, CuI, and Cu(NO 3) 2. Excellent conversions to quinolines were achieved in the presence of a catalytic amount of the Cu(BDC).
